The Netherlands, February 3th 2009 PRESSRELEASE Dutch solution against ATM gas attacks draws global attention Introducing the Gas Protection Unit (GPU) from Mactwin Products & Software. The number of gas attacks on ATMs showed a dramatic increase in 2008. Although not all of these attacks have been successful, they have always lead to considerable damage to the buildings, housing the ATMs. Also, the exploding ATMs have put people in the streets at great risk. However, banks that have the Mactwin GPU installed in their ATMs, are spared both damage and disruption. Functionality The GPU is the ultimate solution against gas attacks. As soon as the specially designed sensors detect an explosive gas, an intelligent controller releases a special explosion suppression chemical. This chemical, which is of course environmentally friendly, changes the make-up of the explosive gas and renders it ineffective. Thus preventing an explosion. Compatibility With a small footprint and no required ATM adjustment, the GPU is quick and easy to install in any ATM type and location. It features next-generation architecture with modular support for security systems that are already in place, such as Ink & Dye security systems, camera surveillance systems, seismic detectors and ATM intrusion prevention systems.
